Overview
E*TRADE Financial is a U.S. financial services company headquartered in New York, best known for its online discount brokerage for self-directed investors. This mobile experience introduced prospective customers to it.
One of the largest projects of this period: a library of reusable elements (buttons, grid layouts, forms, tooltips and overlays) used across the whole site, built with E*TRADE's designers, product managers and back-end developers.
What Jonathan did
- Front-end development in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript and XSL
- Overlay and modal components
- Dynamic page content, meta titles and descriptions
- A shared class and HTML structure for buttons, links and overlays
- Secure login wired into the main login controller
Challenges
- Making every page work across different mobile screen sizes
